About Us

Westover is an addiction treatment centre located in beautiful Thamesville, Ontario and is fully-accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation. Founded in 1986, we are leaders in abstinence focused residential treatment. We have spent more than 30 years providing quality care for our clients with our holistic treatment model. Our relaxed country setting and classic charm provides clients with the ideal space for healing and transformation. 

Our Mission

Simply put, Westover Treatment Centre exists to enable individuals and their friends and family to recover from chemical dependency and co-dependency, in order to lead healthy and productive lives.

Our History  

In 1986, Westover Treatment Centre received funding from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care to open a residential alcohol treatment centre in Thamesville, Ontario. For our first two years, Bev Thomson, Brian Gallagher, Nancy Gallagher, Jovit Mendonca, and dedicated volunteers worked hard to establish our centre. 

Thanks to fundraising initiatives and the generosity of our community, we were able to restore an aging Victorian home into a facility that would provide hope to many suffering from the effects of addiction.

In 1990, we established our Co-Dependence program for families, friends, and loved one who have been affected by another person's addiction. It is still currently one of only two such programs available in Ontario.

More than 12,000 residential clients have been treated at Westover. It is our privilege to provide each one of them with accessible and quality treatment.
